Auto Collision Repair Technology is from the transportation cluster and is a two-year program. Students are taught the skills to rebuild and restore cars. You can fix a fender bender or transform a total wreck, paint a Camaro or repair a Mustang. Paint finishing, glass replacement and fiberglass repairs are some of the many skills mastered through classroom and hands-on experiences. This course prepares students for many careers in body repair and restoration, fabrication and paint finishing. Students receive safety training before participating in hands-on projects. The average salary for an auto body technician is $17.81 per hour with many master technicians earning about $30.17 an hour.

Salary information was obtained from the current edition of the Occupational Outlook Handbook published by the U.S. Department of Labor (www.bls.gov/oco). Potential earnings are based on national salaries for an average work week.  Local earnings will vary and depend upon business conditions and a worker's level of education, motivation and experience.
